Monsoon Plantation Drive at Margallah View Point

On 23rd August 2025, the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) and the Upscaling Green Pakistan Programme (UGPP) of the Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination (MoCC&EC) jointly organized a Monsoon Plantation Drive under the Prime Minister’s initiative “Aik Beti, Aik Shajar” at Margallah View Point.

During the activity, Chir Pine and Kachnaar saplings were planted, seed balls of indigenous species were dispersed, and seeds were sown across the site. With the upcoming rains, these efforts are expected to support natural germination and growth.

The event saw active participation from civil society members, students, and officials from various government departments. Participants also received a briefing on the seed ball-making process and awareness material highlighting watershed management and the importance of native tree species in Margallah Hills National Park.

This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to promoting community participation, ecological restoration, and sustainable management of Pakistan’s natural landscapes.
